The Talkman IS FOR making phone calls AND talking! Ithink it didn´t have ANY games OR wallpapers. It had one ringrone though! I know a guy who always had this phone IN his backpack - it was the FIRST REAL mobile phone I have seen.
This phone was also called "Gorba" after the photo below.
The Mobira Senator, launched IN 1982, was propably "the grand-daddy" OF today's cell phones. The Senator looks LIKE the Talkman - a handset connected TO a brick-LIKE battery AND a handle ON top. The senator weighed a little MORE than the mobiles OF today, 9.8 kilos. Today, a typical cell phone IS a hundredth OF this (100 grams OR less). This 99% weight reduction has been achieved largely through advances IN battery technology AND the lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
One can say that the Lithium-ion battery IS the OF the digital revolution. They power cell phones, MP3 music players, digi cameras, laptops AND other gadgets
